Amlodipine: important information about its use, effects and general recommendations.

What many people confuse

Amlodipine does NOT usually cause a persistent dry cough.

This effect is typical of other blood pressure medications, such as:

  • Enalapril
  • Captopril
  • Ramipril

Therefore, some people who develop a cough with these medications are switched to amlodipine.

The medication controls the pressure, but it doesn’t eliminate the cause.

Here’s something very important that many people don’t understand.

Amlodipine helps control high blood pressure, reduces the risk of heart attack and stroke, and protects the cardiovascular system. But it does not eliminate the underlying cause of hypertension.

In most cases, high blood pressure occurs due to a combination of factors such as:

  • Excess salt.
  • Poor diet.
  • Overweight.
  • Constant stress.
  • Sedentary lifestyle.
  • Genetic predisposition.

That’s why daily habits are as important as medication.
