What I found on my trouser leg after a walk

These seeds adhere so well because of their unique structure.

Many weeds have tiny hooks, barbs, or fine hairs that easily cling to fabric, much like Velcro. Others have slightly sticky surfaces that help them stay put. This structure facilitates the spread of seeds far from their point of origin, increasing the likelihood of them germinating in a new location.

Among the most common weeds that cling to clothing are burdock, cleavers, and sand burdock. They often grow along paths, in tall grass, or near woods. To remove them, you can use a lint roller, adhesive tape, or a fine-toothed comb. It’s best to brush them off outdoors to prevent the seeds from spreading throughout your home. A quick wash afterward will remove any remaining traces—and don’t forget to check your pets that accompanied you on your walk. Nature holds many surprises, even on your trousers.
