Not all high blood pressure is an emergency.
The most recent medical guidelines indicate something very important:
If you have high blood pressure (even 180) but you DON’T have :
-
Chest pain
-
Shortness of breath
-
Blurred vision
-
Confusion
-
Weakness
-
Severe headache
So it’s not an immediate emergency .
That doesn’t mean you should ignore it, but you don’t need to panic .
Your body is on “alert”, not collapsing.
How to deactivate the internal alarm system
Your body has pressure sensors in your neck and chest called baroreceptors .
They regulate how open or closed your arteries are.
The problem is that stress makes them inaccurate.
The fastest way to recalibrate them is to stimulate the vagus nerve through a specific breathing technique.
5-5 Breathing Technique
Do this for 3 to 5 minutes:
-
Inhale for 5 seconds
-
Exhale for 5 seconds
-
Without forcing, without holding back
Inhale…
1 – 2 – 3 – 4 – 5
Exhale…
1 – 2 – 3 – 4 – 5
This pattern tells your nervous system,
“Everything is okay. You can open your arteries.”
And when the arteries open up, the pressure drops .
It’s not psychological relaxation.
It’s pure physiology.
