Celine Dion Shares Touching Memory About Peabo Bryson’s Kindness During ‘Beauty and the Beast’ Recording

As previously reported, his representative said in a statement to CBS News Atlanta on May 31:

“Two-time Grammy Award-winning singer, songwriter and balladeer, Peabo Bryson — the voice behind the Oscar-winning Disney songs ‘Beauty and the Beast’ and ‘A Whole New World’ — has suffered a stroke and is currently under medical care.”

At the time, the family requested privacy as they navigated what the representative described as a “deeply personal moment together.”

His Final Posts Showed Him Doing What He Loved

The loss is especially poignant given how active Peabo remained in the months leading up to his death. His social media posts from 2026 showed the singer continuing to perform for audiences around the world.

In January, he shared an Instagram video inviting fans to attend an upcoming concert in Philadelphia. “Who’s coming to see me in Philly??” he wrote. “Tickets are still available!!”
