In the front of the image, one young boy is holding an object that, to modern eyes, looks strikingly familiar.
Its flat, rectangular shape has led some viewers to compare it to a tablet device—something like an Apple iPad.
That comparison quickly fueled speculation online. After all, the iPad wasn’t introduced until 2010—nearly 70 years after the photo was taken.
