My son came home early that day.
I turned to him, waiting for him to stop her.

And walked into the house.
Liam didn’t move.
Neither did she.
A minute later, my son came back.
Holding just ONE THING in his hand.
Carefully.
Claire barely glanced at it—
then suddenly froze.
Her face drained of color.
Her voice dropped to a whisper.
“No… wait…”
She stepped back.
“… No… you weren’t supposed to have that.”
