The interview sparked a heated debate. The use of ivermectin and fenbendazole in cancer treatment is currently not supported by convincing scientific evidence. Although some preliminary studies suggest that these drugs, when combined with other therapies, may affect tumor size, these findings have not yet been confirmed in larger clinical trials.
According to Economic, ivermectin has previously been promoted as an alternative treatment, for example for COVID-19, but scientists warn that using the drug for such purposes is dangerous and inappropriate.
