Intelligence pills improve your performance at work: myth or reality?

The implications of their long-term consumption have not yet been thoroughly studied, mainly due to the difficulties in identifying those who use them as “neurostimulants”.

People who buy them for this purpose can only obtain them through the internet, so it is difficult to even determine the number of users.

 

“And you can never be 100% sure about what you are buying, the ingredients, and the adverse reactions that can occur when taken with other medications,” warned a spokesperson for the British organization DrugScope.

It is also unknown how addictive they can be.

Experts believe modafinil is not addictive, but DrugScope fears that regular use of the drug could lead to dependence.

And the organization recommends that users of any “smart drug” discuss their use with their primary care physicians.
