Reading, playing cards, solving crossword puzzles, learning languages, or using new technologies are activities that stimulate brain plasticity.

4. Sleep well and get restorative rest

Deep, uninterrupted sleep is a cornerstone of longevity. Older adults who get between 6 and 8 hours of good-quality sleep have a lower risk of cardiovascular disease, cognitive decline, and mood disorders.

Maintaining regular schedules, avoiding screens before bed, and reducing caffeine consumption in the afternoon helps preserve restful sleep.

5. Have a good appetite and regular digestion

Enjoying meals, feeling hungry at regular times, and digesting food without discomfort are signs that your digestive, hormonal, and emotional systems are functioning in balance. Loss of appetite or frequent discomfort can be early signs of problems that warrant medical attention.
