Step-by-step method (MAIN TECHNIQUE)
1. Act fast (very important)
- If the stain is fresh, don’t rub it
- Blot gently with a paper towel to absorb excess oi Rubbing spreads grease deeper into fibers

2. Absorb the oil
- Sprinkle baking soda or cornstarch over the stain
- Leave for 15–30 minutes
This pulls oil out of the fabric
- Brush off the powder gently
3. Apply dish soap
- Put a few drops of dish soap directly on the stain
- Gently rub with fingers or a soft brush
Dish soap is designed to break down grease (like on dishes)
4. Let it sit
- Leave for 10–15 minutes
This allows the soap to dissolve the oil completely
5. Rinse with warm water
- Rinse from the back of the stain
Pushes grease out instead of deeper in
6. Wash normally
- Wash in machine with regular detergent
- Use warm water (if fabric allows)
7. Check before drying
- Make sure stain is gone
If not → repeat process
Heat from dryer can set the stain permanently
