North Korea will never surrender nuclear status
Kim Jong Un’s sister, Kim Yo Jong has declared that North Korea’s status as a nuclear power is “absolutely non-negotiable.” In a strongly worded statement, she dismissed suggestions that the United States and China were working together toward North Korean denuclearisation, calling such hopes unrealistic and insisting Pyongyang’s nuclear arsenal is a “line of no retreat.”
The remarks come just ahead of a high-profile visit by Xi Jinping to North Korea and days after Kim Jong Un called for an “exponential” expansion of the country’s nuclear weapons programme.
Trump booed before Game 3 of NBA Finals
President Donald Trump was met with a chorus of boos prior to Game 3 of the 2026 NBA Finals at the famous Madison Square Garden. While some spectators chanted “USA! USA!” when Trump first appeared on the arena’s giant screens during the national anthem, those cheers were quickly drowned out by loud boos from sections of the crowd.
Trump, whose appearance was historic, marking the first time a sitting U.S. president has attended an NBA Finals game, brushed off the reaction, claiming the crowd was “mostly cheers” and describing the atmosphere as enthusiastic.
