They had chosen a quiet spot away from the larger crowds, laying out blankets and arranging snacks, fruit, and drinks as they settled in for what they believed would be a relaxing and uneventful day.

Laughter filled the air as they talked about everyday life, shared stories, and enjoyed the simple comfort of being together. Families nearby played in the shallow water, children built sandcastles, and seagulls drifted lazily overhead. Everything about the environment felt safe, calm, and predictable. None of them had any reason to believe that this ordinary moment was about to turn into something far more serious.

That sense of peace shifted suddenly when a dog appeared without warning.

It was a medium-sized mixed-breed dog with reddish, slightly tangled fur and an alert, restless energy. It ran directly toward the group, circling their blankets and barking loudly. At first, the women laughed, assuming it was simply playful or searching for attention. One of them offered a small piece of food, while another tossed a snack nearby, expecting the animal to settle down once it was fed.

But the dog did not behave like a typical stray looking for food.

Instead of eating, it ignored the offerings completely. It paced around the group repeatedly, barking in short bursts and then pausing as if trying to gain their attention. Its movements were sharp and focused, not playful. The energy it displayed began to feel urgent, almost as if it was trying to communicate something important rather than simply begging for food.

Gradually, the laughter faded.
