Belgian police began searching for witnesses fifteen years after mother Heidi De Scheppers disappeared in Balen, near Antwerp, in 2010. Her disappearance had not previously been reported.
It’s quite a surprising case. On Sunday, January 28, the Belgian Federal Police appealed to witnesses for help in locating Heidi De Schepper, who had not been seen or heard from for 15 years. In fact, no one had reported her missing. “This woman disappeared in 2010. She seems to have been a devoted and loving mother, which makes her sudden disappearance very strange, ” Kristof Aerts, spokesman for the Antwerp Public Prosecutor’s Office, told Flemish television channel VTM. At the time of her disappearance, the young woman was 26 years old and lived with her partner in a house on a quiet street in Balen, Belgium. She was the housewife of three boys aged two, three, and seven.
